Acadia Mountain Guides Summer Camps

Throughout the summer Acadia Mountain Guides offers a variety of rock climbing and adventure camps for youth and teens. We invite you for a week or a summer or combine a variety of camps to make a custom multi-week camp experience.

 

Rock climb over the ocean! Hike to the top of Maine! Sea kayak the Downeast coast! Learn the sport of rock climbing! Paddleboard on Mount Desert Island! Sleep under the stars! Raft Maine's great rivers! Katahdin... These are but some of the things you can do at camp with Acadia Mountain Guides. For nearly twenty years we have shared our passion for the outdoors with youth in our summer camps. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our signature, RockPro Camps offer one-of-a-kind experiences learning the art of rock climbing. RockPro camps are staged in four levels and are open to all ages. These camps are uniquely tailored to the current skill set and goals of the camper, allowing us to provide a very personalized summer camp experience. 

 

For teens ages 13 - 18, seeking a variety of adventures, our multi-sport high adventure camps are just the ticket. These camps can include hiking, climbing, paddling, rafting, pedaling, and more! These are offered on the beautiful coast, or the rugged mountains of Maine.

 

Children between 9 - 13 years of age will find their adventure in our Young Explorer camps! We offer day, and overnight sessions as well as, climbing-specific and multi-sport adventure camps.

 

Youths ages 7 - 9 have the option to come and join our Mountain Monkeys Youth Rock Climbing Day Camp! This camp is a great first step for youngsters wanting to try a variety of outdoor human-powered activities. A scaled-down version of our Young Explorer and RockPro I camps for young climbers and adventurers providing a healthy and safe way to learn outdoor skills and build self-confidence and teamwork.

Young Explorer Day and Overnight Camps
Ages 9-12

A new adventure every day is the theme of our Young Explorer Day and overnight Camps. There are climbing-specific camps, and also broader adventure programs. Some activities include rock climbing on Maine's striking sea cliffs, scrambling to a bare mountaintop, exploring a cave, playing on a challenge course, canoeing to a nearby island, or learning primitive living skills like shelter building and bow drill fire making. 

             

Multi-Sport Adventure Camps 
Ages 13-18

 

                  

 

With programs Downeast and in the North Woods of Maine you get to choose your adventure! These camps introduce students to the joys of participating in an outdoor expedition all while encouraging the importance of cooperation and teamwork. Choose from one camp, or add multiple weeks and start your journey toward becoming an outdoor master!

All of our camp leaders are PCIA and/or AMGA-certified climbing instructors who specialize in kid's programs. Since our inception in 1993, Acadia Mountain Guides has always set the bar high with formal training and evaluation of all our guides. Our guiding/educational standards are among the best in the industry and are unrivaled in Maine.

 

Climbing Camps 
Ages 13-18

Immerse yourself in a week of climbing! The RockPro series is for high school-age students who really love to climb, and want to bring their skills to the next level. Whether you’ve never climbed or are already a climbing maniac there is a place for you in the RockPro Series. We offer a full spectrum of instruction, from beginner to lead climber in Maine, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and Canada.
