Clif Bar
Clif Bar & Company began in 1992 as a small business that grew out of Gary’s passion for good food and cycling, and the unconventional idea that you could have both at the same time. It took years of inspiration and commitment to overcome many obstacles and grow the company.
In 2000, an offer to buy Clif Bar & Company tested our resolve. In deciding not to sell and to remain private, we took on both the challenge and the opportunity of building a different kind of business – one that could be a catalyst for positive change.
As an extension of the vision we had for our company, in 2006 we founded Clif Bar Family Foundation and serve as its directors and officers.
In 2009 we plowed new ground with our first special initiative, Seed Matters, which focuses on improving and protecting seed, the critical first link in our food chain. Seed Matters reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a robust, healthy food system, and to working with people whose vision and dedication we deeply respect.
